Alumni Update
An update on several of our graduates:
Jimmy Chang (’93)
– is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at St. Petersburg College.
Jimmy Thoms (’97)
– Graduated in May from USF with a Master's degree in History.
Chaz Preston (’99)
– has been accepted to the PhD program in the History of Religions at University of Chicago, where his focus will be Vedic ritual theory and practice. Chaz will be spending this summer in India and Germany studying Sanskrit. He has been awarded a FLAS scholarship for the study of Tamil.
Brian Dudley (’99)
– Graduated from Wooster College with a B.S. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and is in the PhD program at Case Western Reserve. Brian will be getting married this July.
Chris Thoms (’99)
– Graduated from USF with a Bachelors degree in Physics with minors in Math and Asian Studies.
Melissa Ratcliff (‘00)
– Completed her second year in the Law School at Boston University. This summer she will be clerking with a legal firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Philip Dudley (‘00)
– Philip is taking a double major (Economics, Actuarial) at George Mason University, while operating his own business. He will be traveling extensively through eastern Europe this summer.
Amanda Leaders (’01)
– Graduated with honors last summer from USF with a Bachelors degree in English and minors in Anthropology and the Classics. Amanda is a national grand champion in weapons sparring and a black belt in Tae Kwan Do.
Sally Moore (’01)
– Is pursuing a Masters degree in Family Science and Health at the University of Florida. Sally earned the University Woman’s Club Scholarship this spring and was named Graduate Student of the Year.
Jennifer Field (’01)
– Graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications last May and accepted a position with JP Morgan/Chase.
Becky Preston (’02)
- In her senior year at National Louis University, double majoring in Early Childhood Education and Psychology.
Kathy Thoms (’03)
- In her senior year at USF, majoring in Anthropology and the Classics and minoring in Italian. Kathy is studying in Italy for six weeks this summer.
Katherine Field (’03)
– Entering her senior year as a Monroe Scholar at William & Mary, majoring in Mathematics. Katie is on the Dean’s List and is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies. This summer she has been chosen for a NSA Internship for Exceptional Math Students and will spend 12 weeks in Baltimore. Katie intends to pursue her doctorate, possibly at MIT.
Spencer Moore (’04)
– A junior in the University of Florida honors college, majoring in Political Science. Holding Florida Bright Futures and National Merit Scholar scholarships, Spencer is earning an Army ROTC placement and is interested in a career in military intelligence.
Sun Thongsuriyapong (’05)
– Completed his first year at the University of Florida, majoring in Engineering.
